OSHA Compliance and Safety Training

Understanding Federal and California OSHA Standards
Malki Construction is fully committed to all relevant OSHA standards, both federal and California-specific. OSHA’s mission is to ensure safe and healthy workplaces. To do this, it sets and enforces standards and provides training, outreach, education, and help. Federal OSHA sets the baseline for workplace safety across the United States. However, California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) adds rules that are often stricter for employers in the state.
The construction industry faces a wide range of OSHA rules that target job-site hazards. These include fall protection, scaffolding safety, hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), trenching and excavation, electrical safety, and the proper use of tools and heavy equipment. Training That Covers Every Major Hazard
Our training programs fit the needs of the construction industry. We also update them regularly to reflect new OSHA standards, new technology, and best practices. Our sessions cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Fall Protection: Falls are one of the leading causes of injuries and deaths in construction. To prevent them, we train our crews to use harnesses, guardrails, and safety nets. We also stress clear communication and awareness when working at heights.
- Scaffolding Safety: Scaffolding is an essential tool, but it poses real risks if crews use it poorly. So, our team learns how to safely set up, use, and take down scaffolding, with a focus on load limits, stability, and safe access.
- Hazard Communication: OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires employers to tell workers about hazardous chemicals on the job. We train our crews to read Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and chemical labels. We also teach safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): PPE protects workers from physical, chemical, and environmental hazards. Malki Construction trains crews to choose, use, and care for hard hats, gloves, eye protection, and respirators. We also inspect equipment regularly to make sure it works properly.
- Electrical Safety: Electrical hazards are common on job sites, so proper training helps prevent shocks, burns, and other injuries. Our team learns safe practices for wiring, electrical equipment, and tool use near power sources. We also stress lockout/tagout steps, so crews shut off power fully during maintenance.
- Trenching and Excavation Safety: Excavation can be very hazardous because of cave-ins, falls, and dangerous air. For this reason, our team learns OSHA’s excavation standards, including proper sloping, shoring, and trench shields, so all digging work stays safe.
- Tool and Machinery Safety: Proper use and upkeep of tools and heavy equipment prevent accidents. We train our workers to safely run power tools, forklifts, cranes, and other machines. We also stress regular maintenance and inspections to keep equipment in safe working order.
